Shells, Aramoana Beach

Map of New Zealand showing the Otago region.

Aramoana is located at the mouth of Otago harbour, 27 km north of Dunedin city.

Aramoana is one of the most significant saltmarsh habitats in the Otago region. With its beach, rocks, dunes and saltmarsh, Aramoana provides a rich and varied landscape for learning.

Two sites in the settlement, Aramoana Saltmarsh and the neighbouring beach, are recommended for class field trips.
