Buller Conservation Volunteers

These annual awards recognise individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to conservation on the West Coast. A wide range of contributions are considered, from tangible conservation projects such as habitat enhancement, weed removal, recreation, historic and species work to the less tangible conservation projects like those that help raise public awareness and appreciation for conservation.

The recipients come from all walks of life but they share a unique commonality: each has made a conscious decision to undertake a project or tackle a problem using conservation as an outcome or a solution.

Recognising the contribution to conservation that individuals, groups and other organisations have made is one way for DOC to thank people for their involvement and encourage them to continue to be involved in conservation.
