Intention to grant licence guiding concessions

The Minister of Conservation gives notice of his intention to grant two 15 year licences under section 17Q of the Conservation Act 1987 to Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre Trust to:

1. Undertake guiding and educational instruction on various areas of public conservation land within Tongariro Taupo, Wanganui, Wellington Hawkes Bay, Auckland, East Coast Bay of Plenty, and Waikato Conservancies

2. Undertake guiding and educational instruction on public conservation land on Motu Kaikoura Island within Auckland Conservancy.

This application is for two licences.

Any person or organisation may object in writing to the Director-General against the proposals, or make written submissions on the proposals. Objections or submissions should be sent to:

Submissions will be accepted up to and including 17 December 2009.

Any person or organisation wishing to be heard in support of his/her objection, or submission, must request (in that objection/ submission) an opportunity to appear before the Director-General.
