Silver Peaks use survey
Consultation closed 30 October 2009
The Silver Peaks is a rugged schist and tussock scenic reserve 15 km north of Dunedin. A new hut and a desire for outdoor opportunities closer to the city have brought more and different types of people into the area.

To find out how we can best cater for the changing user group, we conducted an online survey to find out how the public uses the area now, and whether there were any future developments people would like to see.
Survey results
Participation in the survey was very pleasing - there were nearly 200 responses. Over the next few weeks we will be analysing the results and providing a summary on this page.
Many thanks to all who responded - the information you provided is extremely valuable for decisions on future management of the Silver Peaks.
Draw winner
Those who completed the survey were put in the draw to win a copy of Dunedin Tracks and Trails, Antony Hamel's excellent 2008 guide to Dunedin walks, tramps and mountain-bike routes.
The winner was Crispin Ovenden of Dunedin.
