Approximately 17% of public conservation land receives sustained site-led weed management. This, of course does not include the weed management that occurs on land that Regional Councils, other crown agencies or private landowners are responsible for.
While biosecurity procedures largely prevent many new invasive weeds arriving from overseas, the source of most new environmental weeds are garden escapes.
