Dusky dolphin

DOC is currently focusing its management for this species on mitigating the impacts of tourism at Kaikoura. Another potential threat to duskys is habitat loss due to marine farms. At Admiralty Bay, Marlborough Sounds DOC is attempting to assess and reduce the effects of coastal development at this site and see if it can be applied to other areas.

DOC is also responsible for managing stranding events.
