Facts
Many features typical of New Zealand's northernmost sheltered granite coastline are found here; sandy beaches, bouldery headlands and reefs, small estuaries and a sand-mud seafloor. The estuaries link the marine reserve to the national park, which in turn buffers the reserve against potentially damaging land practices.
