Measuring the benefits of the marine reserve

How has marine reserve status helped the sea life in the area? DOC is monitoring the changes in the Long Bay - Okura Marine Reserve to measure the project's results.

A baseline survey was done by Auckland University in 2000. An initial monitoring survey of the inter-tidal area and rocky foreshore was undertaken 2002, with a subsequent survey in 2004. No results are currently available.
