Caring for the marine park
The marine park is a dynamic living system. A healthy and productive marine park means people can benefit, use and enjoy its rich resources now and in the future.
To sustain its life-supporting capacity, management agencies are required to work together to integrate management across and ecosystems throughout its catchments.

Throughout the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, agencies, iwi, community trusts, businesses and organisations are working to enhance conservation values, improve environmental quality and provide opportunities for people to enjoy the marine park's special places, values and features.
You can help care for the marine park by joining one of the many community conservation projects that are helping to enhance the marine park - from restoring forests, coasts and wildlife, to maintaining historic places.
You can volunteer to help with many different conservatin tasks, such as habitat restoration, weed control, tree planting, species monitoring, trapping for pest, advocacy, painting and building maintenance.
