DOC's work at Big River Quartz Mine
Major work undertaken by the department includes:
- Poppet head restored (2007)
- Semi-portable Robey engine at the sawmill site restored and new foundations built (2006)
- Engine House reconstructed (2000)
DOC has run a number of 'Hands on' Conservation training workshops on site for staff and volunteers. These workshops are educational and provide an opportunity to further record and conserve the site.
