Volunteer, join or start a project

Our aim is for Northland communities and DOC to work with a shared understanding and commitment to effectively manage the most important places for conservation.

The number of community-based environmental and conservation groups in the region continues to grow as people realise they can make a difference, in many different ways. Often this is in association with other organisations such as councils or non-governmental groups.

A wide range of opportunities is available depending on where you live, your interests, local issues and the scope of projects and programmes. It may include help with administrative, writing or display work - conservation isn't just about physical activity! Everyone's talents are needed.
