Nelson/Marlborough Conservation Board appointments

Associate Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced this year's appointments to the Nelson/Marlborough Conservation Board.
"I am pleased to appoint Joe Puketapu and to reappoint Judith Hellstrom and Gina Solomon to the board," Associate Minister said.
Joe Puketapu has extensive experience in corporate management and governance. He chairs Waikawa Marae at Picton and has had considerable experience in providing iwi perspective on conservation issues.
Judy Hellstrom is a current chair of the board. She has sound academic quality auditor for polytechnics around the country and is also an experienced sailor and tramper.
Gina Solomon is active in Kaikoura conservation projects including the Coastal Guardians Group Te Korowai o Te Tai o Marokura.
"The new makeup of the board represents a wide range of local communities in the Nelson/Marlborough region "said Associate Minister, noting that member interests and areas of expertise spanned a wide range of outdoor recreational pursuits as well as ecology, botany, land administration and tourism development.
Ms Wilkinson thanked retiring board members David Melville, Carl Elkington and Veronique Cornille for their commitment to the board.
