What happens next when applying for a conforming concession

Your concession application should be processed within five working days of receipt. You will then receive a contract to sign and return, or notification your application has been declined.

Additional to the five days will be the time it takes you to provide evidence of your Qualmark certification, or get auditor's approval of your Safety Plan, and proof of insurance. You must provide this documentation to DOC before you can exercise your concession.

Please note: You cannot undertake your concession activity until DOC receives:

  • A signed copy of your concession contract
  • An auditor's approval for your Safety Plan, or proof of Qualmark certification
  • Proof of insurance cover to the required level

Once these three documents have been received, you will be sent a Concessionaire Identity Card and can then begin operating your concession.

Once you have been granted a concession you are expected to carry out your concession activity in the locations you have specified. If you do not take up your concession activity in some or all of the locations in your concession, DOC can revoke your right to operate in those locations.
